TORONTO, ONTARIO - (CCNMatthews - May 10, 2007) -
NOT FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES
Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX.UN) will begin selling advance tickets Friday May 11, 2007 for the highly anticipated movies Shrek the Third, opening in wide release on Friday May 18, 2007 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, opening in wide release on Friday May 25, 2007.
The highly anticipated third installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series will also be shown in a special advanced screening at select theatres across the country on Thursday May 24, 2007 at 8 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.cineplex.com as well as at participating Cineplex Entertainment theatre box offices.
"Cineplex Entertainment is very pleased to provide the special advance screenings of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End to our guests across the country," said Pat Marshall, Vice-President Communications and Investor Relations for Cineplex Entertainment. "We wanted to offer our guests the opportunity to be amongst the very first to experience this highly anticipated movie."
In the follow-up to the record-breaking smash 2006 hit Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, we find our heroes Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) allied with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) in a desperate quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from his mind-bending trap in Davy Jones locker while the terrifying ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman and Davy Jones, under the control of the East India Trading Company, wreaks havoc across the Seven Seas.
In the highly anticipated Shrek the Third, when Shrek married Fiona, the last thing he had in mind was becoming the next King. But when Shrek's father-in-law, King Harold, suddenly croaks, that is exactly what he faces. Unless Shrek (with the help of his trusted companions Donkey and Puss in Boots) can find a suitable King for Far Far Away, the ogre could be stuck with the job. The most promising candidate, Fiona's cousin Artie, an underachieving Medieval high school slacker, proves to be more of a challenge than they bargained for.
