Andre Rieu Extends With Denon Classics
New Deal w/ Top PBS Artist Spans 4 Years and 4 New Projects Including First US Production "Live At Radio City" Airing September '07; Spring & Fall US Tour Dates Announced

Andre Rieu, one of the top touring and
record selling classical artists worldwide, has extended his relationship
with Denon Classics (his recording home for the last five years and a unit
of the Savoy Label Group). The new deal will span the next four years with
at least four new CD and DVD releases coming from the multi-platinum
selling artist. In addition, Denon Classics will release a new greatest
hits collection featuring favorites and all new recordings by the artist.
Coming off of two recent Billboard chart topping releases in 2006, "The
Homecoming" and "Christmas Around The World," Rieu remains the #2
best-selling classical artist in the entire US. Upcoming for 2007, Denon
Classics will release the companion CD and DVD to Rieu's first ever PBS
special filmed in the U.S., "Live At Radio City." Both the CD and DVD will
be available on September 25, 2007. In addition, Andre Rieu's Spring tour
is officially underway (having kicked off in Boston on April 12, concluding
May 23rd in Milwaukee) and Fall dates have been announced.

Andre Rieu has always been an artist who has generated unparalleled
excitement within (and beyond) the realm of classical music. His
spectacular specials filmed in exotic locales around the world have
consistently been the #1 performing pledge drive programs for PBS. His
last twelve CDs have all topped Billboard's Top Classical Chart and he's
won multi-platinum video sales awards for his DVD sets. His worldwide
tours have grown bigger each year regularly selling out arenas in the US
and abroad and have landed him in the Top 5 of Pollstar Magazine's top
touring acts year after year.
2007 promises to continue and further Rieu's profile worldwide and in
particular in the United States as PBS will air his first ever US
production "Live At Radio City" in August and Denon Classics will release
the CD and DVD in late September. Filmed in December of 2006 at the
venerable New York City landmark, the stage spectacular includes Rieu and
his Johann Strauss Orchestra, soloists and the electrifying Harlem Gospel
Choir. In addition, Rieu has completed filming of his second Vienna special
at the famed Schoenbrun Palace for airing on PBS in April of 2008.
On April 12, Rieu began his annual Spring tour in Boston, a tour which will
undoubtedly be another sold out run as his legions of fans of all ages turn
out in record numbers each year. The Spring tour hits mostly arenas on the
East Coast and wraps up on May 23rd in Milwaukee (dates/venues listed
below) and Rieu will return for his traditional West Coast run beginning in
October (cities and dates listed below).
In an age of dwindling exposure for classical music on television and
sliding album sales, Andre Rieu's evolution in North America in the last
few years has been nothing short of remarkable. His musical spectaculars,
whether filmed in the sublime landscapes of Tuscany or the lush Dublin
countryside, have touched a legion of fans worldwide. "The Homecoming"
continued his success in 2006 capturing the excitement of performing before
a hometown audience in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Already an arena-ready
artist in the US, "Live At Radio City" will take Rieu to a whole new level
of recognition Stateside.
The leading independent classical music label in North America, Denon
Classics is a division of the Savoy Label Group which is the North American
unit of Columbia Music Entertainment (formerly Nippon Columbia), the oldest
music company in Japan. Newly reorganized and now headed by Chairman
Strauss Zelnick, Columbia Music Entertainment has reemerged as a
significant force with a stable of newly signed platinum-selling artists.
