Crossfire War - Tehran - Damascus Watch - West Asia Theatre: Tehran - Damascus - Khartoum - Riyadh - Beirut - Ankara - Gaza/Jerusalem - Cairo; High Ranking Syrian Military Delegation Arrives in Iran for A Series of Weeklong Strategy Sessions

Night Watch: TEHRAN - Two of the major governments in the Islamic Axis, Iran-Syria are meeting for a week of military strategy sessions. A high ranking miliary delegation has just arrived in Tehran led by Syrian Major General Yahya L. Solayman. He will be meeting the Deputy Chief of Iran Armed Forces General Command Major General Hassani Sa'di, the Commander of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRCG) Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi and Iran Minister of Defense Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar. [IRNA]

This is a follow up to the meeting between the military command leadership of the two countries last June in Tehran when they made official their mutual security and defense policies directed at Israel-London-Washington. After the meeting Iran Minister of Defense Mohammad-Najjar then stated Syria's and Iran's security were one. Both governments had been playing a leading role in arming the Islamic units and fighters in Iraq attacking the occupation, which would prevent any direct military cooperation between Jerusalem-Washington.

For some reason there has been a long history of cooperation between Iran-Syria. There was even a Syrian branch of the Persian Cult of the Assassin, the leader of them never being known by outsiders. Damascus was the only Arab government that openly supported Tehran during the eight year Iran/Iraq War 1980-88 and during the late summer of 2004, Iran's then President Mohammad Khatami made his strategic four nation regional tour in which he circumvented Egypt and President Hosni Mubarak: Oman-Sudan-Algeria-Syria. In Damascus Khatami praised Syria and openly announced what the Islamic world should do is form a military axis in order to remove "pressures" from Israel-U. S. Last years summer war and now this year are the result.

Iranian officers arrived in Syria last year to direct and monitor the war and there were also Iranian technicians who had been using apartments in Beirut while in Lebanon working with Hezbollah, training them in their most advanced weaponry. Near the war's end there were even Iranian officers found dead alongside Hezbollah fighters. That should not have been surprising since Hezbollah is an extension of Iran's military. Last year was a rehearsal, preparation for the much larger regional war this year that is going to have its main impact in Egypt as it encourages more popular opposition to the one Islamic head of state who has done nothing to support the Jihad in any way, Hosni Mubarak.

There will be no holding back this year. Whatever missiles Hezbollah - Syria have are going to be used. Tehran, however, has been indicating, since last year, Iran would only launch missiles against Israel if Israel attacks Iran first. Given the serious threat from Damascus I doubt if Jerusalem will have the time to initiate any attack against Iran's underground nuclear facilities that are probably nuclear bomb proof, constructed by the engineering firm headquarted in San Francisco going through its London branch office in order to avoid the U. S. embargo against Iran. CNN showed the firm's London branch office the day after the Gulf War ended in 1991, that being the real reason Saddam was not removed that year.

Israel will definitely be less restrained than last year and quite possibly use its nuclear bombs on Syria's most important military-industrial bases. Israel will be there and intact when the smoke clears, but not Mubarak, European units with UNIFIL or the lost alliance of London-Washington, who have been burning bridges with every capital in the region. They will indeed remain true to form. They lied their way in, they'll lie their way out.
