Earth Day Network and Hands on Earth Day, Together for School Greening
Earth Day, April 22, 2007, marks the beginning of a two-year Green Schools Initiative called Hands on Earth Day that will transform two New Orleans schools into energy efficient, healthy learning environments. Earth Day Network (EDN) is partnering with Hands On Network (Hands On) to green the McDonogh 15 School for the Creative Arts and the James Singleton Charter School - both cornerstones in their communities. Thanks to Hands on Earth Day, both schools will receive energy efficient lighting, soil testing for toxins, and bioremediation through sunflower plants.
