BakeSpace.com Earns Webby Award "Official Honoree" Distinction

BakeSpace.com -- the first true social
networking site for people who are passionate about food, cooking and the
culinary lifestyle -- has been named a 2007 Webby Award "Official Honoree."
The Webby Awards have been described by the New York Times as the online
equivalent of the Oscars. Judged by the International Academy of Digital
Arts & Sciences (IADAS), the Awards honor the best Web sites for what the
Academy deems "outstanding work that is setting the standard for the
Internet."
This year's competition included a record 8,000 entries from more than 60
countries and all 50 U.S. states. BakeSpace was the only food-oriented site
recognized in the popular Social Networking category.
"BakeSpace.com's selection as an 'Official Honoree' is a testament to the
skill, ingenuity and vision of its creators," said Webby Award Executive
Director David-Michel Davies.
Launched in August 2006, BakeSpace is a free, independent online community
where members swap recipes, share ideas and build relationships with
foodies from around the world.
"We're proud to be honored alongside some of the largest and most popular
sites on the Web," said Babette Pepaj, BakeSpace.com's founder. "BakeSpace
is a grassroots community created by and for everyone who believes that the
kitchen is the most important room in the house."
