Voxel Dot Net Strengthens New York Metro Network And Datacenter Footprint
NEW YORK (EWORLDWIRE) Apr 3, 2007
Voxel dot Net, Inc, a privately held New York-based managed Internet infrastructure provider, today announced the expansion of its wholly owned and operated optical network and the addition of its latest high-bandwidth server farm.
With stronger-than-expected demand for its TruManaged Hosting and VoxCAST Media Delivery services, Voxel has moved to strengthen its New York metro footprint in concert with its previously announced national buildout. The New York expansion includes an additional metro dark fiber ring and a high-bandwidth server farm at 111 8th Avenue - currently a Voxel "Super POP" IP location.
"Even with our aggressive national buildout underway, demand is beginning to outstrip our physical capacity in New York, with remaining space at our private SOHO facility largely pre-sold," stated Zachary Smith, executive vice president, Voxel dot Net. "Given the exponential growth of traffic on our network, the Voxel strategy of leveraging private dark fiber to access key interconnection facilities is paying off for our customers - we're able to offer a level of scalability greater than that of our competition."
The latest Voxel server farm features the company's standard redundant IP core design, multiple 10-Gigabit transit and transport uplinks, and rapid server deployment capability. The investment in this facility allows Voxel to offer "on demand" scalability and give its customers the ability to add to or grow their infrastructure in as little as ten minutes.
"111 8th Avenue is arguably New York City's best-connected building for IP providers and has thus become a very important location for the Voxel network," explained Adam Rothschild, vice president of Network Architecture. "As one of our two NYC-region 'Super POPs,' adding a high-bandwidth server farm here made perfect sense."
Voxel's latest expansion further solidifies the company's already impressive New York footprint. The Voxel IP Network now includes the following NYC metro carrier hotels and data centers: 111 8th Avenue (NYCC/Tel-X and PAIX), 25 Broadway (Telehouse Broadway), 7 Teleport Drive (Telehouse Center), 165 Halsey (Equinix Newark), 275 Hartz Way (Equinix Secaucus), 150 Varick Street (Voxel Private Datacenter) and 65 Broadway (Switch and Data). Each of these buildings represents on-net locations for the Voxel IP network and supports the company's VoxCAST Media Delivery and TruManaged infrastructure services.
