uTANGO Hires "My Best Friend's Wedding" Consultant to Help Singles, Engaged Couples and Newlyweds Plan the Perfect Wedding
uTANGO today announced the hiring of nationally
recognized wedding expert and loyalty industry veteran Martie Duncan as
vice president and Editor-in-Chief of uTANGO's new LifeMatters(TM)
e-magazine.
Duncan has worked alongside some of the top names in the wedding industry
including Vera Wang, Michael C. Fina, Jim Hjelm, Tiffany & Co., Marshall
Field's and Bloomingdales. In more than 20 years of professional wedding
experience, she has helped thousands of couples and even a few celebrities
walk down the aisle in style -- and now every couple will have free access
to Duncan's expertise through the uTANGO Web site ().
Prior to joining uTANGO, Duncan was the founder and Editor-in-Chief of
WeddingPoints, a loyalty rewards site for brides. As Editor-in-Chief,
Duncan developed content for savvy brides-to-be -- publishing a monthly
e-magazine featuring articles, tips and real wedding stories. Duncan also
hosted the syndicated "wedding radio" talk show program airing from
Chicago's WCKG. As consultant to the bridal industry, her media experience
includes appearances on the "Oprah Winfrey Show," consulting for the
Tri-Star film, "My Best Friend's Wedding" starring Julia Roberts, and
hosting "NBC's Today Throws a Local Wedding" in Birmingham, Alabama.
uTANGO is a new consumer loyalty and life-stage rewards program offering
young couples a chance to earn up to $10,000, $100,000 and $1 Million at
10, 20 and 30 years of program participation for shopping with more than
250 uTANGO merchant partners and staying married. Membership is free and
open to singles, engaged couples and newlyweds. Never before has a loyalty
program offered its members rewards of this size.
uTANGO members earn TANGO Bucks (a.k.a. points) for purchases made with
merchants including Expedia, Sandals Resorts, Macy's, Zales, Sephora,
Nordstrom and more. Engaged members can specifically leverage their wedding
spending to accrue TANGO Bucks on such expenditures as a honeymoon, wedding
rings, wedding favors, bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts, bridal lingerie, wedding
shoes, invitations and more. Using uTANGO's patent-pending Guest Shopping
feature, members can even earn TANGO Bucks on wedding registry purchases
made by their family and friends from stores like Target, Linens N' Things
and Sears.
In addition to the extraordinary Life-Stage Rewards, members also receive
$50-$200 in annual cash rewards as well as access to an online community
and e-magazine called LifeMatters(TM). Duncan will edit the e-magazine,
which offers free relationship advice from renowned relationship expert Dr.
Pepper Schwartz, wedding planning tips from Duncan herself, as well as
information on how to be successful in all aspects of life such as dating,
personal finance, home buying, health, and more.
