FreshBooks Sources Monthly Online Billing and Technology Statistics and Trends From Its Online Invoicing and Time-Tracking Service

FreshBooks, which recently surpassed 140,000 "happy" users, announced its February 2007 billing, Web and tech statistics for media tracking the small- to medium-sized business (SMB) market.

The company provides a monthly resource for reporters, bloggers and analysts seeking relevant market data. FreshBooks' online invoicing and time-tracking service anonymously collects and aggregates data in real time, leveraging its Software as a Service (SaaS) model to deliver ongoing insight into trends in the SMB market.

February 2007 Trends

For companies who accept online payments:
- January, 17.0% of payments were accepted online
- February, 17.9% of payments were accepted online

Payment Methods:
- Visa: 15.5% January, 16.0% February
- Mastercard: 7.6% January, 7.8% February
- Amex: 4.19% January, 4.3% February
- Paypal: 6.5% January, 6.5% February
- Other (including check, cash, account credit, etc.): 66.3% January,
  65.5% February

For companies that send invoices by both email and by ground mail:
- In January 95.9% of invoices were sent by email and 4.1% were sent by
  ground mail
- February 96.2% email, 3.8% ground mail
