UConMag.com Presents Its 'Art & Music' Issue With Blondie's Chris Stein & Gorman Studio, Formerly of Belly
United Creators, an exclusive and
ground-breaking fine arts organization dedicated to exposing emerging and
innovative artistic global talent, is proud to announce the third issue of
its online arts publication, UConMag.com. This special 'Art & Music' issue
of UConMag.com features exclusive interviews with Chris Stein, guitarist
and songwriter of the legendary band Blondie, and Gorman Studio, comprised
of musicians-turned-photographers Chris and Tom Gorman, formerly of the
Grammy-nominated alternative band Belly. In candid interviews not
published in any other magazine, Chris Stein and Gorman Studio discuss
their prolific and creative careers as both innovative artists and
visionary musicians.
Chris Stein, along with his bandmates in Blondie, is a recent 2006 inductee
in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In UConMag.com's 'Art & Music' issue, Mr.
Stein discusses his photography, his involvement with the edgy
and underground cult show "TV Party," collaborating with Andy Warhol and
his band of the last 30 years, Blondie.
Prior to establishing Gorman Studio, an inventive commercial
photography workspace in NYC, Chris and Tom Gorman respectively played
drums and guitar in the Grammy-nominated '90's alternative band Belly.
While still in Belly, budding photographer and designer Chris Gorman
collaborated with Vaughan Oliver, principal graphic designer of 4AD
Records, a label known for both its eclectic and unusual roster of
alternative musical acts and its visually opulent artwork packaging. Chris
Gorman's early photography and design work with 4AD Records was a catalyst
for the future work he would create alongside his brother Tom in Gorman
Studio. In UConMag.com's 'Art & Music' issue, Chris and Tom Gorman discuss
their individual creative processes, early beginnings as photographers,
collaborating with Vaughan Oliver and 4AD Records and life with their
former band Belly.
UConMag.com's 'Art & Music' issue also profiles progressive image-makers
and musicians who seamlessly integrate art into music (and vice versa) such
as: Massive Attack's Robert '3-D' Del Naja, designer Peter Saville,
photographer Nick Knight and Showstudio.com, Icelandic band Sigur Ros and
indie film director Hal Hartley.
