March Madness: Preparing For The Mental Part Of Basketball Starts With PCI's Winning At Basketball
MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (EWORLDWIRE) Mar 8, 2007
After studying the hemispheres of the brain and how they affect athletic performance for the past 17 years, Ernest Solivan, Performance Consultants International (PCI) founder, has developed 'http://www.hk-basketball.com' - a Web site devoted strictly to the mental part of basketball. Specializing in Performance Enhancement Kinesiology, PCI uses a muscle testing technique called Hemispheric Kinesiology to help athletes perform better during competition.
"Basketball players and coaches will spend hours working on shot-making and strategies for an upcoming game. What do they do to mentally prepare for game day?" said Solivan. He believes that his program will help both players and coaches mentally prepare for game day. A basketball player or coach's self image is stored in the subconscious mind. That information was locked in the subconscious mind when they left the egocentric stage of their development.
He also asserts that any negative beliefs stored will remain locked in the subconscious mind indefinitely. Solivan also claims that the only way to change that subconsciously stored negative belief to a positive one is to create what is referred to in Hemispheric Kinesiology as critical factor bypass - and, that these negative beliefs manifest in the physical body as stress and adversely affect both players and coaches during competition.
"When stress is present in a player's body during competition, it will cause the player to miss a free throw with two seconds left to win the game, or commit an uncharacteristic mental error at a crucial point in the game," said Solivan. He has created a 30-minute performance enhancement CD titled Winning At Basketball to help players and coaches mentally prepare for game day. Solivan creates critical factor by pass with the use of a performance trigger contained on the CD.
"To be a great player or coach, you need confidence - and, confidence is a mental trait," remarked Solivan. His Winning At Basketball CD helps instill confidence and help basketball players and coaches remain relaxed and focused during competition. Solivan claims that if they were to simply listen to the CD before and after each game, they would begin to peel away negative beliefs like an onion - those which prevent them from performing to the best of their ability during competition.
