On February 25th 2007, soldiers of Battery A, 5th Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment visited the village of Sharqot, in the Qayyarrah region of Iraq. Qayyarrah is in western Iraq, south of Mosul and East of Kirkuk.

Martin is originally from Payson, Ariz. The 5-82 FA is part of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, out of Fort Bliss, Texas. ()
