Adding to Tehran's influence in Ljubljana's decision making is the economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the energy industry. The wars in the former Yugoslavia have revived Southeast Europe's opposition to Western Europe. Earlier this month Bucharest held a large celebration on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran led by the Ayatollah Khomeini when he came back from Paris in February of 1979.
