New Survey Shows 75 Percent of Women Would Welcome a Dishwasher as a Valentine's Day Gift

A new survey from Sears, Roebuck and Co. shows that three out of four women would welcome a dishwasher if they received one as a Valentine's Day gift.(1) A pair of diamond earrings and dinner out topped the list of most-wanted gifts for Valentine's Day.

The experts at Sears, America's leading home appliance retailer, aren't surprised.

"Is it any wonder that women would welcome a dishwasher as a gift?" said Tina Settecase, vice president and general manager of home appliances at Sears. "Eighty-seven percent of women surveyed are responsible for doing the dishes in their household and more than half of them wind up doing the dishes on Valentine's Day.
