Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Selects VFA for Facilities Capital Planning
One of Nation's Top Hospitals Turns to VFA for Software and Services to Support Capital Planning for Its 1.2 Million Square Feet of Facilities

VFA, Inc., the leading provider of end-to-end
solutions for facilities capital planning and asset management, today
announced that the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has selected VFA's Capital
Planning and Management Solution (CPMS(TM)) to support its multi-year
facility capital planning initiative. VFA will assess the condition of 1.2
million square feet of Dana-Farber facilities, and provide VFA.facility®
software to support the development of long-term capital plans.
Dana-Farber is ranked among the top five cancer hospitals in the nation by
U.S. News & World Report, and is a principal teaching affiliate of the
Harvard Medical School. The institution turned to VFA to help evaluate its
major building, equipment and infrastructure assets and ensure maximum life
expectancy of its five owned facilities. Using VFA.facility capital asset
planning and management software, Dana-Farber will be able to forecast
long-term maintenance, renewal and capital needs across the organization.
As part of its facility assessment work, VFA will also audit Dana-Farber
facilities for Joint Commission compliance. Dana-Farber will employ VFA
software to generate the Joint Commission Statement of Conditions(TM)
(SOC(TM)) documentation related to facility assets.
"Healthcare organizations such as Dana-Farber must consider a combination
of unique requirements, ranging from compliance issues to specialized
medical equipment needs, in planning for their long-term capital needs,"
said Chuck Hodian, Vice President, Healthcare at VFA. "We look forward to
supporting Dana-Farber in optimally aligning its capital investments with
its strategic mission to advance the understanding, diagnosis, treatment,
cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases."
