Father of the eBook Joins TechEd 2007

The Kilt-Wearing Bill Hill, Veteran Researcher & Developer of ClearType is to Speak on the Digital Revolution

Sacramento, CA – Bill Hill, the veteran from Microsoft Research whose passion for literacy found him developing fonts like the widely-used Verdana and discovering the keys to comfortable readability on the the computer screen, will be the closing keynote speaker at TechEd 2007, the 12th Annual Technology in Education Conference & Exposition coming March 25 – 28, 2007 to the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California.

“Bill Hill is quite a character,” says William Neece, conference director, “and the audience will not be disappointed with his presentation, not to mention how much they will love his appearance.”

Bill, a Scot, loves to captures audiences attention with his full Scottish regalia including a classic kilt.

“We were quite honored to learn that Bill Hill wanted to speak at TechEd,” adds William. “He is a true legend in technical circles and the impact he has had on Educational Technology is tremendous.”

Bill’s presentation, entitled “From Molecules to Bits: The Digital Revolution” will cover a wide range of issues including the embracing of a computer-based world where the knowledge environment is driven by bits, not books. He will also give his views of where technology is taking the schools of tomorrow.

“TechEd 2007 will now be opened by Apple’s John Couch, and closed by Microsoft’s Bill Hill. It is quite a year and one not to miss,” concluded William.
