Duke Energy Canada Exchangeco Inc. Announces Name Change and New Trading Symbol

As a result of the spin-off, Exchangeco now has two classes of exchangeable shares: Duke Energy Exchangeable Shares which are exchangeable on a one-for-one basis for common shares of Duke Energy Corporation, and Spectra Energy Exchangeable Shares which are exchangeable on a one-for-one basis for common shares of Spectra Energy Corp. The Duke Energy Exchangeable Shares which currently trade under the symbol DX.A will begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol SPT.A on January 26, 2007. The Spectra Energy Exchangeable Shares which currently trade under the symbol DX.B will begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol SPT.B on January 26, 2007.
