Epic Data Provides Business Update


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - (CCNMatthews - Jan. 10, 2007) - Epic Data International Inc. (TSX:EKD) today announced a number of contract wins in the Aerospace and Defense market, contributing to overall bookings for the first quarter ended December 31, 2006, totaling approximately CDN $3.5 million. James Dodds, Epic Data's President and CEO, commented: "Our recently appointed Vice President, Sales, Mark Whalen and his team have hit the ground running as we continue to validate our product strategy."

The Company separately announced the appointment of Alan Foster to the position of Vice President, Operations. Mr. Foster has extensive technology industry experience in a variety of roles, most recently as President of RFID system provider EXI Wireless Systems Inc.

James Dodds continued: "It is very encouraging that Epic Data has attracted an executive of Alan's caliber. Alan will be accountable for executing the delivery of profitable, mission-critical solutions of the highest quality to Epic Data's customers. I am confident that Alan will have an immediate positive impact as we take on the challenge of fulfilling this recent influx of new customer orders."

The Company also announced it will release full financial results for its first quarter ended December 31, 2006, on January 25. This follows Epic Data's Annual General Meeting scheduled for 2:00 PM on January 24, 2007, at the Company's head office.
