Iraqi Army Capture Bombers

Two individuals were arrested by Iraqi Army forces south of Mosul after attempting to flee the scene of an improvised explosive device detonation along a major highway Dec. 23.

A joint patrol of Iraqi forces and Coalition Forces stopped the pair as they were fleeing on a motorbike after the IED had detonated.

During questioning, one of the suspects admitted his responsibility for most of the IED activity in the area, and both men revealed the names of two other associates wanted by the Iraqi Security Forces for questioning in relation to similar attacks against both civilians and Iraqi and Coalition troops.

One of the suspects is receiving medical treatment for a perforated eardrum suffered during the IED detonation.
