IRD Announces New $1.5 Million Maintenance Contract Award


SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN - (CCNMatthews - Dec. 14, 2006) - International Road Dynamics (TSX:IRD)(IRD) announced today that it was awarded a contract by the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) to provide Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) and Continuous Vehicle Data Collection (CVDC) goods and services statewide. This project is intended to supplement HDOT's existing program and provide maintenance and data collection services as well as enhanced features and performance to their existing systems. The contract has a total three year value of CAD $1.5 Million, with approximately CAD $1.1 Million available in the first two years.

There are 7 Permanent HDOT WIM and 2 Continuous Vehicle Classification Sites that will become part of this project. These sites are located on three of the eight major islands (Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii). These sites provide volume classification and weight data necessary for future pavement planning and design.

HDOT stated "The Planning Branch Planning Survey Section is pleased to announce the award of the WIM/CVDC Goods and Services Contract to International Road Dynamics Inc. HDOT has had successful WIM Projects with IRD in the past and we value their commitment to provide high quality maintenance, data collection, and data validation services."
