  Share With Friends

Iraqi Police and Coalition Forces discovered and disarmed two rockets and launching components Friday in the town of Dibbis, Iraq, located northwest of the city of Kirkuk.

The 52 mm rockets and ignition systems were discovered by Dibbis IP initially. Expert explosive handlers from the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Task Force Lightning, disarmed the explosive weapons and destroyed the rockets.

The controlled detonations at the site caused no damage and there were no Iraqi civilian, IP or CF injuries or casualties.

Over the past seven days, the partnership between IP and CF with cooperation from local citizens has resulted in the discovery of numerous improvised explosive devices, mortars and multiple weapons caches near Kirkuk.
