Crossfire War - China States Arunachal Pradesh is Not Indian
By Willard Payne
Crossfire War - BEIJING WATCH - South Asia Theatre: Beijing - Islamabad - Kabul - Dhaka - Teheran/Delhi; China Declares Arunachal Pradesh Chinese Territory - China Will Enter Next War Against India
Night Watch: BEIJING - AKI reports that Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has flatly rejected the declaration by China Ambassador to Delhi Sun Yuxi, "In our position the whole of Arunachal Pradesh is Chinese territory and Tawang is only one place in it...We are claiming the whole of it, that is our position." His Excellency was speaking during a televised interview, just one week before China President Hu Jintao is to make an important visit to one of China's oldest enemies. The rivalry laid dormant for quite some time as India was part of Britain's empire and China experienced internal disputes and civil wars, but the territorial conflict was revived as India became independent in 1947 and just two years later the Communist established another central government in China.[
AKI]
There were skirmishes and incursions by both India and China all during 1962 but the border dispute exploded in to all out war in October as Chinese troops invaded India's part of Kashmir and four points across the McMahon Line that was demarcated in 1914. It set the boundary between India's Northeast Frontier Agency - Arunachal Pradesh, which is bordered by Bhutan to the West, China on the north and Burma (Myanmar) to the east. India's Assam state is to the south and when Chinese troops experienced breakthroughs on this front they threatened to continue south into the Assam plains by mid-November. But instead they were withdrawn by the end of the year.
This territorial issue is the reason Beijing has for decades sent massive military assistance to Islamabad and now of course to Teheran knowing that they could seriously weaken Delhi's position. But I didn't realize Beijing would be prepared to join with the suspect condition of China's military. For years the news would mention China's military leadership, of its People's Liberation Army (PLA), was more concerned about their investments in hotels and resorts ever since their economy was opened up to international investors 20 years ago.
Hu Jintao made such investments illegal but I wasn't sure if his order was taken seriously. Evidently it has and in the past couple of years Hu Jintao has promoted officers he could trust to the rank of general. Obviously the promotion is more than ceremonial. Hu Jintao and China's new military leadership intend to use the units that are combat - invasion ready to join the next war against Delhi and they obviously intend to divide India along with the Islamic governments which will also be invading the country as part of the Iran-China Axis of World War III.
Islamabad will start the invasion, quickly joined by Teheran and some of the Afghan warlords. Then the Islamic militant groups in Bangladesh will attack India from across their border. Beijing will then follow and Delhi will be heavily engaged on several fronts simultaneously.
The Indian Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. S. K. Singh, a former Foreign Minister, responded to the Ambassdor's statement saying it was an "arrogant way of negotiation." Singh added the Chinese had done this kind of thing before, "It is an odd way." But there is nothing odd or strange about this territorial dispute and Beijing is aware they cannot seize Arunachal Pradesh diplomatically. This time, if they experience the initial advances as in 1962 and with few losses, Beijing may decide to continue as far south into Assam as possible.
If that happens then Rangoon may decide to join the plunder to see if they can seize some of India's territory also.
