Crossfire War - TEHRAN WATCH - Eurasia Theatre: Tehran/Moscow - Washington - Berlin; Iran Announces 3,000 More Uranium Centrifuges to be Installed by March 2007 - Tip of the Iceberg
Night Watch: TEHRAN - Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseni announced that Iran intends to have 3,000 uranium centrifuges installed my March 2007. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Tehran is deliberately giving the deceptive impression that its 20 year old nuclear weapons program, designed to produce nuclear warheads for their Shahab ballistic missiles, is just barely beyond its embryo stage. I don't think even Moscow knows how many Russian scientists are employed by Iran. So many of them went south at the end of the Cold War in 1990.[

This is why Moscow is willing to admit sanctions have no chance of threatening Iran's nuclear weapons program not to mention the futility of an Israeli air strike against installations that are deep underground and nuclear bomb proof. They were constructed by the same San Francisco based engineering firm, which was also hired by Riyadh to build its military base network during the 1980s. The bases were shown off during the Gulf War and after it ended in February 1991, CNN showed the London branch office of the firm invited to Iran. The firm went through London to evade the U. S. embargo against Iran and that in itself shows the ineffectiveness of embargos. They will only accomplish publicity as the United Nations Security Council continues its diplomatic dance.
In the very real and anxious meantime industrial concerns, represented by Berlin, are waiting for Moscow to be ready to confront Tehran militarily in the South Caucasus, due to Tehran's support for Tbilisi in its military standoff with Moscow. The diplomatic masques will come off then. Hopefully Moscow will be ready before next year is half over. Washington can provide some air cover.
