Crossfire War - TEHRAN WATCH - Eurasia Theatre: Tehran- Belgrade - Muscat - Tbilisi - Kabul - Islamabad - Damascus/Moscow - Washington - Delhi - Rome; 10 Armored - Motorized - Infantry Brigades Involved in Wargames - New Generation of Anti - Helicopter - Anti - Armor - Anti - Personnel Weapons Tested - New Weapons Will be Exported to Islamic Axis Countries
Night Watch: TEHRAN - Iran gave quite a hint yesterday when it mentioned that as a result of its meeting Oman Defense Minister and its Head of Customs that Oman will begin using Iranian manufactured weapons. Today the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolution's Guard Corps (IRGC), General Mohammad-Reza Zahedi stated that a new generation of weapons is being tested by the 10 armored-motorized-infantry brigades involved in the 10 day wargames that are scheduled to end on the 12th. Zahedi stated the units are using modern equipment with improved capability including anti-helicopter weapons that are effective against all types of helicopters. In addition, also being tested are new anti-armor weapons and anti-personnel bullets, which can penetrate the most advanced bullet proof vests. General Zahedi added, this new generation of weaponry enables Iranian units to reach as far as 840 miles (1,400km) into hypothetical enemy territory. The wargames are being waged in 14 of Iran's provinces in the country's south, southwest, southeast, northeast and northwest.
I suspect Tehran is intending to export all of these weapons to Islamic governments, which will also commit units in the name of the Jihad against what Tehran designates are "enemies of Islam", the latest designation Tehran had al-Qaeda make against the European units in UNIFIL in south Lebanon. Non - Islamic governments working with Tehran, Belgrade - Tbilisi, will also receive them. These same new generation weapons will be exported to Pakistan for use against India where Iran will also commit a large number of forces. The Taliban in Afghanistan will also be supplied with the latest. Some of the heaviest Allied losses there were caused when helicopters were shot down. The new anti-helicopters missiles will make that easier. Recently the Taliban leader announced they will soon be staging new attacks.
Other Islamic Axis countries and militia units to receive the latest equipment will be: the Mahdi Army in southern Iraq, headed by Tehran backed Moqtada al-Sadr, Hezbollah, Palestinian militant groups, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Sudan, Libya. Georgia will receive them to assist Tbilisi in their military confrontation with Russia and Serbia whose government signed a security agreement with Iran last January. Tehran will use the resumption of fighting in the former Yugoslavia as a way of silencing Vienna. For at least the past several years Tehran has been exporting weapons to sixty countries.
With the Iranian wargames ending November 12, then before the month is over, the new weaponry could already have an impact on any number of fronts. As with the end of the last series of wargames less than two months ago, Tehran will not want its military to be idle long. The next time these weapons are used, it won't be for testing, that seems to have been completed. The next time it will be for real as Tehran commits its forces in support of Islamic and other Axis governments against their mutual enemies.
