Kentucky Colonel Commission Awarded To NewsBlaze's Alan Gray

Honor bestowed on Gray resulted from publishing stories by military service personnel serving in Iraq.

FOLSOM, CA (EWORLDWIRE) Oct 24, 2006

Governor of Kentucky Ernie Fletcher has honored Alan Gray, editor and founder of NewsBlaze (www.NewsBlaze.com), with a Commission as a Kentucky Colonel. Nomination and selection of Gray resulted from the efforts of Kentucky native and U.S. serviceman, Captain David Page, while serving in Tikrit, Iraq.

Gray published every story and photo received from Captain Page and many other dedicated soldiers over the past year, working to broadcast the commendable activities and accomplishments of U.S. military men and women stationed in Iraq, directly attributable to their exemplary efforts. Page said, "Your help in getting our news pieces out this past year ensured the public has the ability to find out about what's going right in Iraq. Your genuine openness and infallible dedication have been a blessing to us, and we sincerely appreciate your efforts and your organization's work in communicating our stories to the world."

NewsBlaze publishes and maintains in its online archives every story it receives. Each reflects unmistakeable progress made by soldiers in Iraq despite assertions made by mainstream media that efforts in Iraq are fruitless and that the only news is bad news. NewsBlaze supports and honors the servicemen and women who work diligently to improve Iraq and assist its citizens. While popularity polls indicate a majority of the U.S. population feels that nothing good has transpired in Iraq, Gray has consistently heard a contrasting, unequivocal story from those serving across the world - a story nearly drowned out by the incessant chatter of media representing negative images of the situation.

The decorous honor has been humbly accepted, and the Certificate of Commission now graces a wall in the NewsBlaze office. Gray has extended his thanks to Governor Ernie Fletcher and Captain David Page.

Colonel Alan Gray has also joined the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and contributes to the Good Works Program Fund. The Good Works Program provides programs in communities which offer support and assistance to needy low-income inhabitants or disabled persons. Details about its activities are highlighted on the website of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels at http://www.kycolonels.org/, under Good Works. Contributions to the Good Works Program during 2005 totaled $1,633,000. It was the second year in a row that the voluntary generosity of Kentucky Colonels totaled a record number. Bequests to the Honorable Order added another $178,000.
