Talking With Heroes Iraq Tour

Abilene, Texas: Bob Calvert, host of the popular Internet broadcast, Talking with Heroes, has returned from a two-week tour of Iraq with the Minnesota National Guard 134th Brigade Combat Team. This resulted in eight one-hour talk shows with air dates beginning October 22, 2006, 8pm (EST), on www.talkingwithheroes.com, and will continue over the next eight weeks. Information on the show's guests are on the website under "Talk Show Schedules".

The broadcasts took place in Balad, Camp Anacanda, Camp Taquaddum, at a school in Tourist Town, at Al Qaim near the Syrian Border and at Al Asad. Guests included men and women from the Minnesota National Guard, and Marines talking about the positive developments happening in Iraq that are little known or talked about in the US.

One show took place at the grand opening of the Tourist Town School in Tourist Town, Iraq, as a direct result of the Minnesota National Guard and families back home. The school's principal, speaking through an interpreter, was among the guests.

Some shows focused on the Iraqi Army Training program. Calvert spent time with the Military Transition Team (MITT) at Al Qaim and saw firsthand what can happen when our brave men and women work side by side with the Iraqis. He also had the opportunity to meet with Iraqi Army officers and their new recruits.

Plans are being made to release these talk shows as DVDs.
