Alberta Medical Association: Third Annual Tarrant Scholarship Awards Presentation

EDMONTON, ALBERTA - (CCNMatthews - Oct. 13, 2006) - On Monday, October 16, the Tarrant Scholarship will be awarded to four Alberta medical students at the University of Alberta Faculty Club in Edmonton. Named in honor of the late Dr. Michael Tarrant, a Calgary family physician who championed rural medical undergraduate education, the scholarship is Alberta's largest unrestricted medical school undergraduate award. This year, two students from the University of Alberta and two students from the University of Calgary will share the scholarships, which provide a full year's tuition at each university to medical students who seek careers in rural medicine in Alberta.
