4O Minutes of Hell With the Shark - Basketball & Motivation Clinic Hosted by Nolan Richardson & Jerry Tarkanian


TULSA, Okla. - Oct. 12 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Coach Nolan Richardson, known for his style of play, referred to as, "40 Minutes of Hell," is teaming up with Coach Jerry Tarkanian, also known as "Tark the Shark." The two basketball legends have 81 years of coaching experience combined. They plan to share the secrets of their success and how coaches and players alike can use the fundamentals of basketball to improve their game. The basketball clinic will be held at Rogers High School Field House in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This clinic is designed to motivate and include all aspects of basketball techniques including shooting, ball handling, speed/agility, and fast-breaks. The motivational clinic which is open to the public will also stress the importance of having a positive attitude on and off the court.

These two legends combined have coached on every level, from Junior High to the Pro's. Tarkanian has more collegiate victories than any other basketball coach with a 990-228 career coaching record. Famous for his "Amoeba Defense," "Tark the Shark," has coached for 43 years. He took his team to (4) Final Four's and a won the NCAA National Championship in 1990.

Richardson has achieved 609 victories in his 25 years of coaching at the college level. His career in coaching has spanned for over 38 years. He is the only coach in history who has won a championship in all (3) collegiate divisions, Nat'l Junior College Tournament, Nat'l Invitational Tournament and the NCAA National Championship in 1994. He recently added a gold medal to his accomplishments by coaching the Panamanian Team in preparation for the World Games. "This is my opportunity to get back to the basics and share my knowledge of the game," says Richardson.

Former NBA player, Lee Mayberry, a College All American who attended Rogers High School, played with the Milwaukee Bucks for (4) years and the Vancouver Grizzlies for (3) years will lend his expertise.

We are also pleased to announce that J.V. Haney, one of Tulsa's most accomplished coaches for 30 years in Okla. High Schools will participate in the event. Haney is in the "Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame."

We also welcome Bartlesville High School Coach, Tim Bart. His teams have gone to the State Tournament 4 out of 5 times. Bart has eleven years of coaching experience.
