Plainfield (IN) Votes 4-0 to Go Smokefree
By Joseph W. Cherner
This week, the Plainfield (Indiana) City Council voted 4-0 in favor of smokefree workplace legislation. The law covers all restaurants and bars.
Plainfield, an Indianapolis suburb, is the fourth city in Indiana to pass smokefree restaurant and bar legislation. Earlier this year, West Lafayette and Zionsville passed similar legislation, and Bloomington passed a comprehensive law over 3 years ago.
The ordinance will take effect on February 1, 2007.
