Positive Economic Impact of Ethanol and Biodiesel Discussion
Indiana farmers, the economy and the environment to benefit
U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Samuel W. Bodman will join Rep. Chris Chocola (IN-2) in South Bend, Indiana, for a roundtable discussion with farmers from the local agriculture planning committee, farm bureau representatives and TRANSPO leadership. The roundtable is closed press. A media availability will follow the roundtable discussion.
The Secretary will highlight the Administration's efforts to further develop and promote the use of alternative and renewable energy sources, our nation's strong economy, and the October 11-12, 2006 renewable energy conference in St. Louis, MO, Advancing Renewable Energy: An American Rural Renaissance, jointly hosted by DOE and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
TRANSPO is the public transportation system in South Bend and fuels all its buses with biodiesel.
