Nina May's Daily Commentary, Oct. 9, 2006

By Nina May

The most amazing thing about the election cycle is the lowest common denominator that is determined to spin the cycle, eradicating every other issue from the landscape of ideas. The Democrats, oddly this term, have chosen gay-bashing as their cause celebre in hopes of ... what, shoring up their valueless base that excuses any action by their idol, Bill Clinton, while feigning shock that such tawdry affairs occur?

It just doesn't pass the bi-annual smell test to think suddenly Democrats care about moral values and are willing to throw their gay base under the bus to convince the rest of us idiots out there that they do. They are of course hoping that the attention will be distracted from a booming economy, tax cuts (that will be repealed if Democrats get control), a push to secure the borders and keep us safe from homeland attacks, the way we have been for five years under Republican leadership. I mean, check out the stock market, falling gas prices, unemployment at an all time low, even the building industry is breaking records in production of new housing starts. Shhh, we can't focus on that ... people might actually hear James Carvell's words echoing in their ears about it being "the economy stupid," or ... as it has become for them, as they wince with these success reports ... the "stupid economy."

If the only thing that the Democrats can add to the mix is that a gay congressman sent a few lurid e-mails and they are appalled by that action, then I suggest we spend the next 30 days dismantling societal structures and institutions that have not only convinced us this behavior is acceptable, but called those who opposed it, "homophobes."

That means we have to remove every sensitivity training class in America from the Federal agencies down to the kindergartens that convince everyone that same sex relationships are just as healthy and wholesome as heterosexual ones. We are going to have to ask those cross dressing bus drivers who insist upon confusing our kids with a conflicted gender identity, to choose one and stick with it. We will have to close down the comedian troupe of gays and lesbians who tour high schools around the country putting condoms over the heads of the kids and laughing about anal sex. We will have to force the United Way to apologize to the Boy Scouts for taking them off their funding list, and reinstate them in every city, town and hamlet where they have been exiled for saying exactly what the Democrats are saying about Cong. Foley ... that grown men should not have access to young boys.

I just love a tough talking Democrat. They are just so cute when their tongues wrap around words that in the past would have caused them to chock. "We care about the children ... it is all about the children and their protection," whines Nancy Pelosi as she applauds Democrat Congressman Gerry Studs for raping a young male page by awarding him with a Committee Chairmanship. She is so concerned about the children that she marches in gay parades next to men who have as their purpose in life, to have sex with as many young boys as possible ... NAMBLA. Oh, and did I mention she supports abortion on demand at any stage. Yes, Nancy, it is adorable to see you try and convince all of us idiots in America that you really care about the kids, for 30 days before an election, when the rest of your life is a testimony to anything but. If you really really really really do ... will you issue an apology to the Boy Scouts for you and your party booing them at YOUR party's convention in Los Angeles when they presented the colors in 2000? We're wwaaiittiinngggg.

Will you and your party finally agree with the rest of the nation that Bill Clinton is a slimy, creepy guy who sees women as objects for his own pleasure, whether they want to play or not? Will Paula Jones get an apology for being called trailer trash because she was summoned to him as a state employee and refused to "service" his needs? Will Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Wiley get apologies from all you Democrats for ignoring their stories of rape and molestation by the man who claims to feel everyone's pain? According to Kathleen, that is not what he was feeling.

Will you suggest that Hillary knew about all of this and should take responsibility and resign as the Senator from New York. I mean, heh, if Dennis Hastert is supposed to know what goes on behind closed doors with 435 members of congress, and Hillary can't even keep tabs on her own husband, what is she doing in leadership? If the Republicans and Dennis Hastert sat on the Foley e-mails and did nothing with them ... ask Hillary why she sat on the knowledge that Juanita Broaddrick had been raped, that her husband was sleeping with Jennifer Flowers, that he was groping Kathleen Wiley and exploiting and sexually harassing Monica Lewinsky? If Hillary is the smartest woman in the world, as the Democrats claim, why didn't she know any of these details, and if she knew it, why didn't she report it or stop it?

Ironically, the Republicans are not allowed to cry foul, by pointing out that the Democrats knew about Foley's foibles, but chose to release that information within 30 days of an election. But both Bill and Hillary Clinton get away with claiming that they are the victims of some vast right wing conspiracy, when THEY were the ones committing the crimes.

But happily, this mess with Foley is really a total vindication for the Republicans who have been saying for years that the type of behavior that the Democrats support and encourage is bad for children and bad for America. Even if they only say it for 30 days every two years, they are on record as not only being hypocrites, but for backstabbing their amoral, values-clarification base. It also shows the voters that when the economy is booming, that the Democrats could care less about celebrating that fact, because they know they can't take a bit of credit for it, as they salivate in the wings to repeal the tax cuts that the Republicans fought tooth and nail for.

So this is how the election is going to go: Everyone who sees through the hypocrisy of the Democrats will be remembering Gerry Studs and Bill Clinton on election day, not Mark Foley. Everyone who is fooled by the tricks and disgusted with every member of congress because they haven't been engaged enough to know the difference in the two parties, are what we call "undecided voters" and they will probably just stay home.

The liberal base who loyally supports whatever the Democrats do, like cut their taxes, or call them perverts when it suits the Democrat leadership are thinking twice about this election. They are feeling a little like the witches in Salem as their own party leads the parade to "out" every homosexual in a fashion that would make even Larry Flynt flinch. (I wonder if he offered an award like he did for the outing of Republican congressmen who were fadiliating with anyone but their spouse). It will be hard to put that genie back in the bottle because now America sees both parties in total agreement that the homosexual lifestyle is dangerous, promotes pedophilia, and people who practice it should be run from office in disgrace, and anyone who knew they were gay should be tarred with the same brush. Well, at least that is how the Democrats want us to now see their party, at least until the election. The Republicans, ironically were never quite this over-top-on the issue.

So ... if moral values are the issue in the election ... Republicans have always embraced them, and Democrats do only 1/24 of the time. So vote for the real thing. If the economy is important, then look at the amazing growth since the nation was attacked five years ago, tax cuts were given while the stock market is skyrocketing ... all under a Republican congress and White House. The only group left out there who will vote for the Democrats are those who want power at all costs, no matter how it divides the nation, trashes the economy, puts one class of people in a second class status and makes our nation more vulnerable to terrorist attacks.

So, no matter what the outcome of the election, it has been refreshing to finally see everyone agreeing on the issue of moral values ... even if it is just for a few weeks.
