MONTREAL, QUEBEC - (CCNMatthews - Sept. 27, 2006) - Raymor Industries Inc. (TSX VENTURE:RAR), a leading developer and producer of single-walled carbon nanotubes, nanomaterials and advanced materials, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Raymor Nanotech Inc., has received an initial order for the supply of single-walled carbon nanotubes (C-SWNT) from a major US firm who is one of the 30 companies that form part of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. This initial order will be completed and shipped during the next fiscal quarter. The client, whose name can not be disclosed at this time due to confidentiality agreements in place, has the capabilities and experience to help integrate Raymor's C-SWNT into end-use products, such as composite components for aircraft. This initial order is for the purposes of qualifying Raymor as a supplier of C-SWNT and is not of a material importance from a financial perspective. Raymor does expect that upon qualification, such a client will be able to generate significant demand for its C-SWNT.

Stephane Robert, President and CEO of Raymor Industries, had the following to say:

"There is a clear market for the supply of single-walled carbon nanotubes to enhance the properties of polymer-based composite components for aircraft and other applications. Clients with knowledge and experience in polymer processing are critical elements in the supply chain in order to fully integrate Raymor's nanotubes into end-use commercial products. Large, multidisciplinary, international clients, such as the client from today's announcement will allow Raymor's products to be exposed to a wide span of industries, including aerospace and defence. Negotiations continue with other potential clients, and we hope to bring our shareholders up to date on developments here shortly."

Raymor's high quality C-SWNT are produced using a unique, patented, plasma-based process. As compared to the other techniques for commercially producing C-SWNT (CVD, Gas Phase CVD, Arc, Laser Ablation), Raymor produces in a continuous process large volumes of high quality C-SWNT at a reasonable price to facilitate the full integration into commercial products.

C-SWNT are unique forms of pure carbon, which are up to 100 times stronger than steel at 1/6th the weight i.e. very strong, lightweight materials. These materials have impressive electrical properties, as they can conduct electricity up to 1000 times greater than copper. C-SWNT can transfer heat up to 10 times greater than copper. Given these phenomenal properties, C-SWNT will be the technology platform for a multitude of applications, including:

Aerospace: Electrically active, thermally conductive polymers,
                 nanotube structural enhanced composites; etc.

Defense: Enhanced lightweight ballistic protection, field
                 sensors; etc.

Energy: Hydrogen storage for fuel cells, battery electrodes,
                 etc.

Electronics/IT: Heat sinks; nanochips, hard drive heads, etc.

Medical: New drug delivery medications, devices, etc.

Sports: Enhanced golf, tennis, baseball, cycling equipment,
                 etc.

Telecom: Antennas, microwave amplifier devices, etc.

Automotive: Fuel cells, structural components, electronics; etc.

Consumer: Flat panel displays, textiles, paint, efficient
                 lighting, water filtration, etc.

For confidentiality and competitive reasons, terms of this order were not disclosed.
