Judyth Piazza Gets up Close and Personal with Anthony Wal, Musician

This self-motivated individual can be described as a 'live-wire' who has no trouble getting people to feel the constant energy he has inside. As a prolific singer/songwriter/composer, he is able to express emotions through his powerful, poignant lyrics and attention-grabbing musical compositions about love, passion, friendship, envy, and almost every other feeling you can imagine! He makes you feel like you can sing the lyrics of his songs even if you've never heard them before! His writing style can be straightforward or abstract and he is really keen on inventing out-of-the-ordinary expressions. One sure thing is that he doesn't believe in creating lyrics that completely reveal a story. He would rather have listeners make up their own image about the song's lyrical description.
Born and raised in Montreal (Quebec), Canada, Anthony Wal grew up listening to various genres of music from different parts of the world. The exposure to this mixture of genres helped formulate his present style of music, which can be described as infectious alternative/pop/rock a la All-American Rejects, Avril Lavigne, Click Five, Goo Goo Dolls, Bryan Adams, Jason Mraz, and James Blunt. Other influences include artists such as Bon Jovi, Third Eye Blind, and Counting Crows.
His "Mexico" song received an "Honorable Mention Award" from the CMT/NSAI Song Contest (2004) in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. Moreover, his "Mexico" song was picked up by producer Durban Laverde (Que Karma Records) and included on the "Aquí Está América" compilation CD through Sony-BMG Entertainment Venezuela. Three of his songs have been included on rotation at a number of internet radio stations in the U.S. and Canada, and have also been included on compilation CDs. As well, Anthony Wal received a nomination in the Best International category of the 2006 Orange County Music Awards in Anaheim, California, and was included on their 'Nominees' compilation CD. Last, but not least, his "Kiss in Rome" song was selected by TuneTank.net in order to appear on their TUNETANK NXNE (North by Northeast - www.nxne.com) NEW GENERATION 2006 CD.
Anthony Wal has performed at a number of studios, clubs, and events in Montreal (Canada) and various locations in Italy, Venezuela, and the U.S. You will soon be able to buy his first EP, which will be available in record stores across Canada and everywhere online, including www.anthonywalmusic.com and www.myspace.com/anthonywal.
