MaxSIM Launches Web-Enabled International Mobile Calling, Free Conference

  Share With Friends

MaxSIM.co.uk, a leading provider of prepaid roaming mobile phone services, today announces the launch of its first-to-market web-enabled and conference calling facilities, becoming the only prepaid SIM provider to offer such a service. This leading edge service allows business users to not only make cheap calls, but also to set up conference calls whilst abroad at no additional fee for the conference facility, via any phone, anywhere.

MaxSIM.co.uk's service is web-enabled, meaning calls are set up and connected via the internet, as opposed to a traditional mobile phone network. Therefore a businessperson travelling in Japan can set up a conference call with colleagues in Madrid, London, New York and Sydney and only pay for the cost of the calls rather than the conference service.

As it's a web-enabled service this also means its not handset dependent, i.e. the users can use hotel phones without incurring the high costs associated with hotel phones. The service will allow up to 20 conference call connections at any one time.

The total cost of a 5-minute conference call, initiated on a Japanese landline, and conferencing landlines in Madrid, London, New York and Sydney via the MaxSIM.co.uk call management page would be 49 pence in total. The 49 pence would be deducted from the Japanese MaxSIM.co.uk users' account (no need to enter credit cards or receive a bill). The conferences in Madrid, London, New York and Sydney would pay nothing. The MaxSIM user in Japan could record the call and forward it on to his colleagues at no additional cost (in .wma format).

Comparing the 49 pence MaxSIM.co.uk charge to a leading competitor, BT's MeetMe Service, reveals vast cost savings. The BT MeetMe cost would be £5.49 for the same conference call (18.8 pence per minute per person for each connection) plus from 1.2p to 5.3p per minute for the call charges, with an additional £50 per recoding and replay charge.

This pioneering use of the internet has opened up additional functionality like voice recording. The MaxSIM.co.uk website permits voice recording of the conference call, which allows businesspeople to send the conference call, as an mpeg or wav file, back to the office for transcribing.

Richard Thompson from MaxSIM.co.uk comments "We are delighted to launch a market first technology. The web is a powerful business tool, and as yet, no mobile provider has harnessed its full power to help consumers save money. The new services provide a business traveller the opportunity to access comprehensive communication facilities from anywhere they are in the world, whilst benefiting from call charges that are up to 85% cheaper than the main mobile operators."

MaxSIM.co.uk enables travellers to benefit from massive cost savings without compromising on reliability and quality or subject to hidden costs. Users are allocated a UK number and features of the SIM include voicemail, call recording, conference calling and call forwarding. MaxSIM.co.uk can also be used in the UK, offering competitive text and call charges compared with other prepaid tariffs. A MaxSIM.co.uk subscription costs just £29.99.

MaxSIM.co.uk can also offer corporate deals on SIM packages as well as a host of innovative services and functionality.
