Maxent 50-Inch WXGA Plasma Display (MX-5020HPM) Extends the Company's High-Performance Value-Packed Flat-Panel Product Family by Incorporating Japanese Technology for Outstanding Clarity and Rich, Natural Imitation with Competitive Pricing

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Aug. 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Maxent, a leading provider of high-quality, value-priced flat-panel display solutions, today announced the expansion of its line of feature-rich flat panel digital televisions with the availability of the new 50-inch diagonal WXGA plasma display (MX-5020HPM). Available nationwide at a suggested list price of $2,499, the HDTV-Ready MX-5020HPM incorporates a high-performance Japanese panel to deliver video quality rivaling products from high-end Japanese manufacturers. To ensure the highest quality interface between video components, the MX-5020HPM features dual HDMI inputs with HDCP to support the high-performance video interface integrated into a growing number of video components including HDTV cable boxes, DVD players and streaming media adapters.

Designed to deliver exceptional value and performance to the consumer market, this full-featured, affordable MX-5020HPM plasma delivers video performance comparable to other high-quality plasma panels from name-brand Japanese manufacturers, delivering a host of performance-enhancing features that include a 3-D Y/C digital comb filter, advanced video processing and integrated audio systems.

The MX-5020HPM boasts a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, an impressive contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and a brightness level of 1200 cd/m2. The new 50-inch plasma display guarantees zero bright pixels, incorporates MotionDSC(r) II Video Processor and digital noise reduction for rich and natural clarity. In addition to Preset Picture Settings, Image Shift for burn-in protection and Auto Video Detection/Synchronization, the Maxent plasma TV features an RS-232 port for remote control, advanced audio processing, integrated bottom-mounted speakers, and a wide variety of connectivity options including HDMI with HDCP, RGB input, composite/S-video inputs, SD/HD component video inputs, discrete audio inputs, and audio and subwoofer outputs.

"While Maxent has always been focused on delivering high-quality, affordable flat panel displays to the mass consumer market, we've taken our products to the next level by integrating one of the industry's best Japanese plasma panels into our new 50-inch product," explained Brian Ballard, Vice President of Maxent. "No longer does high-end performance need to be a trade-off for affordability. The new MX-5020HPM utilizes the same high-quality plasma panel used in many name brand Japanese plasma displays, however, we are able to deliver that same quality at a substantial cost savings. Combining the new panel with some additional value-adds such as dual HDMI inputs, an RS-232 port and automatic video detection and synchronization, we anticipate that the new MX-5020HPM will be one of the most popular and successful additions to our product family."
