Amplify Evaluator(TM) to Offer Industry's Most Comprehensive Tools for Evaluating Return on Strategic Marketing Investments

Leading sports marketing veteran Michael A. Neuman today announced the launch of Amplify Sports & Entertainment, LLC (www.ampfirm.com), a sports and entertainment marketing agency created to help brands harness the power of strategic sponsorships and alliances, and to maximize the impact of celebrity- and athlete-driven marketing campaigns. Neuman, a former senior executive with STRATEGIC, Paragon Marketing Group and Arnold Communications, will serve as president of the new company.

Amplify Sports & Entertainment will also offer clients its proprietary "Amplify Evaluator(TM)," the industry's most comprehensive return-on-investment measurement tool delivering customized, brand- and category-specific analysis of strategic sponsorships, alliances and celebrity marketing initiatives.

"Sports and entertainment marketing generates strategically placed, targeted exposure that drives sales and can dramatically enhance the impression consumers have of brands and their key selling propositions. As more and more companies have come to realize the importance of using sports and entertainment sponsorships as a critical component of their marketing mix, they are looking for a firm that will deliver true creativity, customized solutions and a laser-like focus on bottom-line performance," stated Neuman. "Amplify will combine hands-on senior level commitment with decades of experience, great industry contacts, and a proven return-on-investment model coupled with the ability to create the right programs for brands of all sizes."

Until recently, Neuman served as senior vice president, group account director for STRATEGIC (formerly Strategic Sports Group) where he was responsible for the company's flagship account, InBev USA, as well as numerous other agency clients. Neuman's work on InBev was recognized with the Bill Veeck Sports Sponsorship Award for the concept and activation of Rolling Rock's sponsorship of the Pittsburgh Steelers and their commemorative can promotion honoring retired broadcaster Myron Cope.

Mike Harrington, former head of marketing at InBev USA, said, "The value Michael Neuman and his team brought to our brands always exceeded my expectations. Through his passion and creativity, not only did he deliver topflight brand partners, he consistently showed us how we could spend $1 and receive $10 in value. More importantly, he helped us build long-term relationships with new brand partners and uncovered synergies that helped drive new sales on several of our key brands."

Prior to STRATEGIC, Neuman opened and led the New York City office for Paragon Marketing Group, where he spearheaded their work as a strategic sports marketing agency to the pharmaceutical and other industries. Paragon served as sports marketing agency on Pfizer's award-winning depression awareness campaign, "Minds in Motion," for Zoloft. Paragon was also retained to help Pfizer leverage its 2002 Olympic Games sponsorship in Salt Lake City by consulting with numerous brands on its Olympic activation strategies. Neuman also co-developed a national awareness campaign for Amgen entitled "Anemia Lifeline," and managed its media and retail partnerships.

Previously, Neuman was the vice president of sports marketing & strategic alliances for Arnold Communications for the New York Metro McDonald's co-op. In that capacity he was responsible for strategically leveraging McDonald's sports, athlete and entertainment partnerships. Neuman also spent seven years managing Hoop-It-Up, the NBA's "Official 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament," in numerous markets while serving as vice president of Global Television Sports, Inc., a Philadelphia-based TV sports production and event management firm.

Neuman also serves as adjunct professor of sports marketing and corporate sponsorship at the Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management at New York University.
