LINX Makes The Connection With WebitPR
London Internet Exchange (LINX) - the home of one of the world's largest Internet exchange points - has selected WebitPR as its key PR partner following a highly successful trial. LINX will use WebitPR's unique online news distribution and coverage monitoring service for all news announcements, as part of its international PR campaign.
LINX has been a driving force in the global growth of the Internet for more than a decade. It carries around 96% of the UK's Internet traffic every working day and has more than 220 members within its organisation - comprising both ISPs (Internet Service Providers) and content delivery service providers from the UK, mainland Europe, the USA, Africa and the Far East.
WebitPR's unique online news distribution and fully-inclusive monitoring service, like LINX, has been focused at the Internet from the start. "LINX is a proud success story of an organisation with humble beginnings which is now very much a linchpin of this country's ability to communicate," said WebitPR Executive Chairman Adam Parker.
"WebitPR was founded more than five years ago from a similar starting point and with a great ambition to give the PR industry an enhanced capability in the growing online media world."
WebitPR offers a unique all-in-one online news distribution and coverage monitoring service and has handled news releases for some of the world's leading names in the telecommunications and IT sectors.
The delivery of results, rather than simply promises, from WebitPR was key in confirming the agreement with LINX. Sales and Marketing Manager, Vanessa Evans, commented: "We were delighted at the diverse and extensive coverage as well as the exceptional service we received during the trial period with WebitPR. It made the decision to take up their contract offering very easy indeed.
"With our Internet heritage we were obviously looking for an organisation which knew about the online media world - was committed to it - and knew how to monitor the coverage it achieved. We were more than impressed by WebitPR and are looking forward to working with them going forward."
Since 1994, LINX has acted as the focus for development of the Internet infrastructure in the UK and, increasingly, the infrastructure between Europe, North America and Asia. This is reflected by the composition of its membership across the globe - ISPs and other organisations which choose to exchange their Internet traffic with LINX through co-operative peering agreements.
Adam concluded: "We are particularly delighted to have been recognised by LINX as an organisation which can use what they themselves have helped to develop in order to increase the awareness of LINX in the marketplace. We're thrilled to be working with such a well respected organisation."
