Argogroup Takes TD-SCDMA testing to China
Surrey, UK, 01 August 2006 - Argogroup, the leader in user experience optimization for mobile services, has announced that it has deployed its award-winning quality management platform, Monitor Master, in China on a TD-SCDMA network. TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) is a 3G mobile telecommunications standard developed and deployed in China and based on spread spectrum CDMA technology.
Monitor Master's testing capabilities for TD-SCDMA will provide operators in China with the ability to test and monitor their 3G services and the networks on which they run. Testing functionalities already available include mobile browsing and SMS, with video streaming and MMS testing currently in development and due to be deployed in the coming months.
"The market inChina is immense," commented Thomas Renz, senior VP of the Quality of Service Business Unit at Argogroup. "With network subscriber numbers now topping 400 million, it's been predicted that TD-SCDMA-based mobile communications will bring China's 3G equipment and related product makers over CNY 500 billion. With these sort of figures in mind, it is absolutely critical for network operators in the region to be able to provide a quality of service which matches their end-users' expectations and out-performs their competitors in order to ensure a piece of the pie."
One of the key challenges of developing TD-SCDMA testing software is that the standard is not deployed anywhere outside of China. To overcome this challenge, Argogroup's engineers in the region worked closely with Datang Mobile which is dedicated to the research and development of TD-SCDMA. Datang Telecom Technology and Industry Group declared, "Datang Mobile is fully committed to providing a total solution for customers in the area of public and private communication networks."
Renz continued, "Being able to support TD-SCDMA is just one part of our ongoing commitment our worldwide customers by making Monitor Master's test and measurement capabilities available across as many different network bearer technologies as possible."
