Special Agent in Charge James M. Kasson announced today that Sanseev Srivastan was found guilty July 17, 2006 on all counts for his involvement in an international Internet pharmacy network that imported and distributed millions of dollars worth of non-controlled and controlled drugs into the United States from India. The jury deliberated for only two hours following a five-week trial. This is the first Internet pharmacy prosecution in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prior to this trial, Akhil Bansal (head of the internet pharmacy ring) and Fred Mullinix (head of one internet pharmacy web site) were found guilty of all charges. All other defendants involved have pleaded guilty.

An indictment returned April 6, 2005, charged Bansal, Mullinex, Srivastan and 13 other individuals with participating in the international conspiracy to move drugs to individuals in the United States through a number of Internet pharmacy Web sites, and with laundering millions of dollars in proceeds.

According to Special Agent in Charge James M. Kasson, "Guilty verdicts from both of these trials send a loud message to any potential violator, that law enforcement will pursue cyber criminals, prosecutors will bring charges and juries will convict them. The Bansal Drug Trafficking Organization has been permanently logged off the Internet."
