AssetPoint Announces New Client -- SeverCorr LLC -- With the First New Steel Mill in the U.S. in Decades

  Share With Friends

SeverCorr LLC is building the next generation steel mill in Northeast Mississippi, near the city of Columbus. SeverCorr, a brand-new steel company with a 1.5 million ton capacity facility, has selected TabWare EF(x) from AssetPoint (www.assetpoint.com) as their CMMS/EAM software for the new facility. The steel mill -- with a state of the art melt shop, thin slab caster, hot mill, cold mill and a hot-dip galvanizing line -- serves a growing manufacturing infrastructure in the Southern United States. The facility is located in Lowndes County Mississippi, with easy access to both rail and Interstate truck routes for fast delivery to more than twelve targeted states. The SeverCorr plant is expected to be completed and in production by late 2007.

When complete by late 2007, SeverCorr's plant will cover more than a million square feet, and will eventually deliver up to 1.5 million tons of high grade steel products for manufacturing plants in the southern U.S. and northern Mexico.

SeverCorr is the first new steel mill in the United States in decades. Despite their brief existence, SeverCorr intends to make history as the first in a new generation of steelmakers that blend new technology with a new way of doing business. TabWare EF(x) software from AssetPoint will contribute to that blend of new technology to support SeverCorr in their groundbreaking efforts.

"AssetPoint has an excellent track record in the steel industry, and we selected TabWare EF(x) for its rich functionality, ease of use and its integration with the I.T. platform we are using at SeverCorr," said Alex Ingram, Information Solutions Manager, SeverCorr LLC.
