Media Content Startup Provider Becomes New NYIIX Member

Metro New York's largest internet exchange, NYIIX - The New York International Internet Exchange, will serve as a main peering point, when DreamTank LLC, a Los Angeles-based start-up, launches its new video content delivery and playback platform. NYIIX will provide public and private peering distribution and access to its new member.

DreamTank is the developer and owner of a software platform that elevates online video delivery and playback quality to new highs, providing DVD quality at 384 and 768 kilobits per second. By peering through NYIIX, DreamTank will gain the exchange's cost effective broadband distribution and expansive reach to the business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets. Moreover, ISPs, via NYIIX, will have access to DreamTank's high quality broadband media capability to meet their clients' needs.

"We are extremely happy to have NYIIX as one of our main peering points. NYIIX's global reach plays a key role by enabling DreamTank to easily peer with any part of our worldwide network. Now we have the capability to seamlessly and efficiently peer with hundreds of partners," said DreamTank's Amnon Lisbona, Executive V.P. of Business Development. "TELEHOUSE, which provides outstanding customer service, has demonstrated an unparalleled understanding of DreamTank's one-of-a-kind business strategy."

"The presence of DreamTank continues the growth of media and entertainment companies' taking advantage of NYIIX's public and private peering services for the various types of IP traffic," said TELEHOUSE's Akio Sugeno, Director of Internet Engineering. "Enterprise and carrier clients have extensive access to major providers in the network space."

NYIIX is the only exchange giving members the advantages of a seamless 10GigE interface from all three New York carrier hotels. Remote switches at 111 8th Avenue and 60 Hudson Street connected to 25B enable 93 NYIIX members to peer easily, publicly and privately, with one another. Two hundred-plus companies at the BROADWAY Center / 25B extend their peering options by connecting with over 200 customers at 111 8th and over 200 at 60 Hudson.

TELEHOUSE operates NYIIX out of 25 Broadway in Manhattan, New York. NYIIX is one of the U.S.A.'s largest neutral Internet exchange points. It is one of a select few exchanges that took part in NeuStar's launch of a global SIP-IX initiative.
