UltraStrip Delivers Initial Filtration System to Pierce Manufacturing for Water Filtration Truck
UltraStrip Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: USTP), the
Stuart, Florida-based technology innovation company for homeland security,
marine, disaster relief and defense applications, announced today that the
Company through its Ecosphere Technologies, Inc. subsidiary has delivered
to Pierce Manufacturing Inc. a filtration system. Pierce will offer the
water filtration system as an option in their fire and rescue vehicles to
provide potable water from contaminated water sources.
Dennis McGuire, Chief Executive Officer of UltraStrip, commented, "We
sought out Pierce Manufacturing to market our EPA/ETV verified water
filtration system to its network of municipal, military, and homeland
defense customers. After our experience providing clean water to the
residents of Waveland, Miss., following the devastation of Hurricane
Katrina, we designed a filtration system to better meet the needs of
victims of disasters. We have delivered this state-of-the-art filtration
system to Pierce as scheduled. Pierce will integrate the system into their
rugged six-wheel-drive, all-terrain vehicle. The vehicle's ability to
respond to a manmade or natural disaster and clean virtually any
contaminated water to meet drinking water standards is unsurpassed in the
industry. The Pierce water filtration truck also has been designed to meet
the requirements of military and homeland security agencies."
"By offering the new water filtration system as a Pierce option, we
continue to provide our customers with innovative products that allow
departments to better serve their communities and be prepared for any
situation," said Jim Parker, vice president government and homeland
security for Pierce.
"This is an important example of how private sector innovation can and
should support our national interest," said Joe Allbaugh, President and CEO
of The Allbaugh Company, LLC and a director of UltraStrip. "This mobile
water filtration unit is a valuable tool for disaster preparedness,
military troop hydration and even to provide clean water in developing
countries."
Mickey Donn, President of Ecosphere Technologies, stated, "We are very
excited to have completed our portion of the project and delivered to
Pierce this one of a kind filtration system to be integrated into the water
filtration truck. This multi-stage filtration system is capable of removing
toxic chemical and biological agents from contaminated water sources,
including seawater and it has a unique ability to monitor the contaminated
water coming into the system and the clean water being processed out of the
unit offsite through a computer line or satellite. We learned valuable
lessons responding to the water needs of the people of Waveland, Miss.,
following Hurricane Katrina with our Mobile Emergency Filtration System,
and this unit's ability to manoeuvre through terrain devastated by a
hurricane will allow help to arrive quicker and provide water to the people
affected and the agencies giving assistance."
