Revamped Cafe 34 and Bistro Offers Mouth-Watering Menu and Hip, Lively Atmosphere

Café 34 and Bistro has quickly become one of central New Jersey’s trendiest new restaurants for eaters of all ages

Café 34 and Bistro, with its brand new interior and menu, has quickly become one of central New Jersey’s trendiest new restaurants for eaters of all ages.

After watching several of the Matawan, N.J. restaurant’s predecessors close, current owner Antonio Berlingieri, who has managed seven other successful stores, took charge of management and decided it was time for an overhaul.

"We changed the name, redid the whole place, installed a new bar, planned out a new menu," he said. "Everything is new and improved, from the back of the house where our new chef, Ciro is making great food, to the front of the house, where our new floor manager Giovanni and Antonio's wife Gisella are ensuring each patron has an enjoyable stay."

An expanded extensive menu features nearly sixty continental cuisine dishes including fine steak, seafood, veal, chicken, pasta dishes, a children’s menu and a lighter bar menu featuring items such as pizza, cheese steak, hamburgers and buffalo wings. With a broad range of cocktails and wines, the bar appeals to a wide variety of tastes.

Berlingieri is convinced Café 34 and Bistro has one feature above all that’s incomparable: atmosphere.

Comfortable spacing, a new design and an energetic staff give the bistro a hip, lively aura which is punctuated by the restaurant’s new facilities.

"Seven brand new plasma televisions live entertainment on the weekends draws everyone in," Berlingieri explained.

Each week, Thursday through Saturday night, the restaurant incorporates live music. Thursday night is “Ladies Night,” while Fridays and Saturdays feature light dance music geared towards adults thirty and older.

Café 34 and Bistro’s broad, dynamic menu and varied entertainment have attracted crowds of both young and old singles along with extended families since the restaurant’s opening. Along with conventional sit-down dining, Café 34 and Bistro offers take-out service and private or corporate party hosting perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, business meetings, luncheons, holiday parties and other events.

Drinks are half price during happy hour, from Monday through Friday, from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Located at 787 State Route 34 in Matawan, N.J., Café 34 and Bistro is open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sundays through Wednesdays and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
