THE SUMMER OBSESSION Comes Into Their Season; August Album Release Set for 'THIS IS WHERE YOU BELONG'

Virgin Debut Band Joins Warped Tour for June Dates, Will Cover East and West Coasts Through August

If there's a self-fulfilling prophecy in the musical landscape of the year, it's the way the Virgin debut band THE SUMMER OBSESSION is coming into its own, with its crunchy pop-rock combination of guitar, electronics, and faultless songwriting, during the dog days of 2006.

The Florida-based quartet -- Luke, on keyboards and vocals; Chris, formerly of Good Charlotte, on drums and "shenanigans"; Fin, on guitar and vocals; and Christ, on bass, with Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver, P!nk) producing and Ryan Williams engineering (OutKast, Rage Against the Machine) -- will release the album "THIS IS WHERE YOU BELONG" on Virgin Records on August 29, 2006, following a year of intensive touring, preceded July 25th by the single and video "Do You Remember."

Over the summer, TSO will play a week of live dates on the Vans Warped Tour, and make two coastal swings, through mid-August. Immediately thereafter, purevolume.com is sponsoring a third tour series on the east coast, with Bottom Line. TSO makes a July 27 appearance at the Teen Vogue Fashion Live event in Huntington Beach, California, which takes place yearly as a part of the U.S. Open of Surfing.

Last month, two early TSO tracks, "Death Said," and "Disappear," were featured in the 100,000-copy run of a compilation CD created as a free gift for first buyers of the teen-female-directed science fiction "Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever," written by America's top-selling author, James Patterson. The book entered the USA Today consolidated fiction/non-fiction best-selling book chart in the top 25 at its late-May release, while Patterson's co-written novel "Beach Road" topped every major fiction best-seller list the same week. TSO release information was tagged to all book advertising at point of purchase, print, radio and online.
