POM Incorporated To Provide High-Tech Parking Meters In New Haven

POM Incorporated announced that it has been awarded a $1.5 million contract to provide over 3,000 new electronic parking meters to the city of New Haven, Connecticut.

POM Incorporated announced it has been awarded a $1.5 million contract to provide over three thousand new electronic parking meters to the city of New Haven, Connecticut.

The meters will be equipped to accept Parcxmart(R) cards, a merchant-driven electronic payment solution for small dollar transactions already in circulation in New Haven. Other features include POM’s signature high-visibility enforcement signal and the ability to upgrade to vehicle detection and wireless network.

POM is a privately owned Arkansas corporation descended from the inventor of the parking meter that today specializes in single to four-space electronic parking meters. The New Haven award comes after a two-phase RFP, successful pilot installation and delivery negotiations to accommodate the city’s new rate increase to roll out by July 1. A similar test installation is also in process in Bridgeport.
