Casey Visits with Mayor of Balad Ruz

BALAD RUZ, Iraq - The Commanding General of the Multi-National Forces in Iraq, Gen. George Casey, made a stop in the town of Balad Ruz to meet with the mayor and discuss the current progress of the city.

Accompanying Casey was Col. Brian D. Jones, the commander of the 4th Infantry Divisions 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, Lt. Col. James Rice, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team Deputy Commanding Officer, and the Commander of the 5th Iraqi Army Division, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Hamid.

After welcoming the group, Mayor Mohamed Maroof Hussein and Casey discussed current infrastructure concerns, to include the town's medical clinics and its overall security.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mayor Hussein thanked Gen. Casey for the help that the coalition forces have provided him with, his town and Iraq overall.
