Capitol Hill News Conference on Oil Depletion, Climate Change, Upcoming Peak Oil and Environment Conference
Congressmen Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD) and Tom
Udall (D-NM), co-chairmen of the Congressional Peak Oil Caucus and
cosponsors of H.Res. 507 announce a Capitol Hill news conference on
Thursday, May 4 between 10:00 am and 10:30 am on the Cannon Terrace to
discuss Sustainable Energy Forum 2006: "Peak Oil and the Environment." The
University of Maryland's Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology
Program is hosting this three-day conference about the implications of two
impending crises -- the coming peak in worldwide oil production and the
continuing disruption of ecosystems due to global climate change.
The Sustainable Energy Forum 2006: "Peak Oil and the Environment" will be
held on May 7-9 at the Marvin Center, 800 21st Street NW, Washington, DC.
It will bring together the world's leading sustainability thinkers for a
