Entertainment Capital Corporation Announces Formation of Music Publishing Company and Record Label, Roma Music Group, Inc.
Entertainment Capital Corporation, whose
focus is to invest in companies engaged in various aspects of the
entertainment industry, today announced the formation of a new wholly
owned portfolio investment company, Roma Music Group, Inc.
Roma Music Group, a privately held Nevada corporation, is comprised of two
divisions: a music publishing arm that owns and administrates copyrights to
music for film properties and a record label that produces and distributes
soundtracks and new recording artists.
"The formation of Roma Music Group and its addition to the Entertainment
Capital Corporation investment portfolio demonstrates our intention to
operate as a diversified entertainment industry fund," said John Bailey,
chief executive officer of Entertainment Capital Corporation. "As we
provide the necessary resources and support for our existing portfolio
investments to successfully execute their business strategies, we will also
continue to seek new investments in a broad range of entertainment industry
segments, each of which will have the potential to return significant
long-term value for ECC shareholders."
Roma Music Group is expected to explore opportunities to work with
Entertainment Capital Corporation's first portfolio investment, FilmMates
Entertainment, Inc., which recently appointed Richard Glasser, music
supervisor for Academy Award® Best Picture winner Crash, its Advisory
Board. Mr. Glasser will serve as music supervisor to films financed by
FilmMates Entertainment, as well as administering the music rights for
FilmMates Entertainment film library, with the goal of maximizing the
revenue potential of the music rights for FilmMates film properties.
"While each of the portfolio companies will be added for its ability to
successfully grow, build revenues and provide return to Entertainment
Capital Corporation and its shareholders, there are a number of potential
synergies that may allow ECC portfolio companies to work together and to
not only provide significantly increased value for each individual company,
but to also expand the value of our entire investment portfolio. FilmMates
Entertainment and Roma Music Group clearly possess such synergies through
movie soundtracks and similar ventures related to the existing FilmMates
Entertainment library and future film property acquisitions," added Mr.
Bailey.
