Los Angeles World Airports to Waive Commercial Film Permit Fees
The Los Angeles Board of Airport
Commissioners today approved the waiver of daily film permit fees at Los
Angeles International Airport (LAX), Ontario International Airport (ONT),
Palmdale Regional Airport (PMD) and Van Nuys Airport (VNY). The action
covers motion picture filming and commercial still photography and is in
accordance with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's commitment to make Los Angeles
a "film friendly" city.
The four airports owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports have
long been popular filming sites for the film industry. Today's Board
action rescinds the $50 daily charge for filming with a cast, crew and
extras of less than five people, as well as the $100 daily charge for
filming with a cast, crew and extras of more than five people. All other
terms of the LAWA Film Policy will remain the same.
