The Curvy Women's Guide Narrows The Fashion Gap Between Straight And Plus Sizes

While many stores specializing in plus size clothing are spreading across the United States, Canadian consumers haven’t been as lucky.

Canadians are constantly venturing outside the border to find great shopping deals, but when it comes to fashion, Canadian women often settle. Provided a woman finds the online store that fits her style, and who is happy to deal with international customers, a Canadian woman will be amazed at the variety of fashions out there.

The problem is finding a retailer that offers clothing to fit a personal style. There are places online to find listings for plus size clothing, however the descriptions are often incomplete and misleading. Add to that the fact that shoppers have to deal with broken links and the whole process can be frustrating.

All of that is about to change. Jennifer Guy, from Kelowna, British Columbia, has just released “The Curvy Woman’s Online Shopping Guide," a guide filled with links, reviews, descriptions and more, to make the experience easier for her and millions of other “curvy women.”

“When I first ventured online, I thought it would be easy to find beautiful, stylish clothes. I was wrong. I spent hours wading through stores that only carried one or two plus size items or wouldn’t even ship to Canada,” says Guy.

That’s where The Curvy Woman’s Guide is different. “I spent anywhere from 30 minutes to five hours on each of the Web sites in our guide” says Jennifer. The reviews of over 180 merchants, cross referenced into 15 different style categories, for women sizes 14 plus, include descriptions of the style of clothing, availability of sizes, shipping and return policies, price range and ease of navigation. "Basically, we’ve done the sorting for the consumer, who only needs to browse the reviews, and pick a site to visit.”

The Curvy Woman’s Online Shopping Guide was created to make the process of finding and purchasing the perfect outfit as simple for plus size women as it is for straight sizes and judging from the content, updated bi-yearly for its members, it will create a positive, ongoing, online shopping experience.
