President of Azerbaijan To Visit White House April 28
Azerbaijan important ally in War on Terror
President Bush will welcome Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Washington for an April 28 meeting, the White House announced April 10.
The two leaders will focus on cooperation and the promotion of democracy in the Caucasus, energy diversification, and their "common commitment to working together to advance freedom and security," the announcement said.
It noted that Azerbaijan "is a key ally in a region of great importance and a valued partner, making important contributions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo."
